Spicy Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz tequila (preferably blanco or reposado)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 oz Cointreau or triple sec
  • ½ oz agave syrup (or simple syrup)
  • 2-3 slices of fresh jalapeño (adjust to your heat preference)
  • Tajín seasoning or salt, for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Dried Lime slice, for garnish
  • Jalapeño slice, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glass:
    • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your margarita glass.
    • Dip the rim into Tajín seasoning or salt to coat. Set the glass aside.
  2. Muddle the Jalapeño:
    • In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh jalapeño slices.
    • Muddle them gently with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their oils and spice.
  3. Mix the Margarita:
    • Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, Cointreau (or triple sec), and agave syrup into the shaker.
    • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.
  4. Strain and Serve:
    • Strain the margarita into your prepared glass over fresh ice.
    • Garnish with a dried lime slice.
  5. Enjoy:
    • Sip and savor the perfect blend of citrusy sweetness and spicy kick!

Tips:

  • For an extra-spicy margarita, muddle more jalapeño slices or add a dash of jalapeño-infused tequila.
  • If you prefer a milder spice level, remove the seeds from the jalapeño before muddling.

This Spicy Margarita is a refreshing yet fiery twist on the classic margarita, perfect for those who like a little heat in their drink.
